At least that’s the impression I get.
Whenever anything remotely erotic is portrayed on TV, the media always uses these approaches:
1) It is portrayed as something humorous - judging from the tone set by the voice-over, editing and the music.
2) It gets transformed into a toned-down, social/ or family situation.
3) It gets turned into a women's lifestyle trend (for example, luxury goods ads and pole-dancing etc.).
4) It gets demonized. Men are not encouraged to be erotic creatures (we are often portrayed as dirty men etc.). Conversely, women - cross-dressers and gays - are given the green light!
5) The final option - censorship and bans.
Do you notice this weirdness too? It's like, either the authorities are trying to tone down the erotic, or turn it into something different, or gods forbid, turn off our appetites, subliminally, or directly! (P.s. I live in the far East).
Doesn't the media portray the erotic in the most bizarre way (in my town at least)?
I'm in america and I get JUST what you are talking about. It's like they will admit that erotica is there, but don't want to. Like, they want to kind of make certain it doesn't, I don't know, arouse the veiwers?
Reply:well, i live in Spain, and they show porn on a public chanel every night for 5 hours, so it must be where you live, they are really liberal here
