Did you know that Wright's church is blaming the media for this?

"Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.’s character is being assassinated in the public sphere because he has preached a social gospel on behalf of oppressed women, children and men in America and around the globe." ~Reverend Otis Moss III, (new) pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ.

So, their defense is that Wright's comments were a "social gospel on behalf of oppressed women, children and men in America and around the globe"

I didn't notice any mention of "oppressed" WHITE "women, children and men in America".

Is the pastor unaware that people of ALL races fall on hard times, and that they have to pick themselves up and work to better their OWN situations? Or do they feel that somehow complaining about it is going to help?

That just doesn't sound like a very inspirational message to send to your congregation of church members. Don't people go to church seeking spiritual enlightenment, fulfillment and HOPE? Why speak of despair and oppression?

And obama just deserted his friend and mentor of 20 years..hung him out to dry..it's that kind of loyalty that we as Americans do not need in our President. obama also says he did not know wright was teaching the racist and anti-Americanism that is found on the taped sermons. It is a sad day when one attends a church for 20 years and is not aware of the nature of the doctrine being taught in that church.
Reply:Church's like to change things around and make there own rules .......get this a friend of mine said that he could not sit with his own wife in church the Lady's in one room and the men in the next room and just one person 3 doors down taking care of the younger ones ,

talk about brain washing some one

Church's are evil .............it dines not have anything to with the lord
Reply:Laugh now, cry later... when Americans come face to face with future reality, knowing that nothing would be left of America for Americans to call their own.
Reply:I thought that "women, children, and men" could be white. It was your choice to exclude whites.
Reply:I've listened to a few of his rants/preaching, and I have come to the conclusion that he feels that white folks are all going to Hell. That we aren't human at all and that we are the sole cause of all of the world's problems.

If Rev. Wright is an inspirational speaker than I'm an astronaut with NASA!
Reply:Yea, I cant seem to remember the last time I walked into a church and heard a preacher screaming anti-American rants and the N word. Maybe Rev Wright should start a career in hip hop
Reply:The church has many things in the community. they haven't take any good thing about that or about Obama's former prist who is a Veterian. He served his country and he is aganist His countries policy SO WHAT. Nothing has to do with Obama.
Reply:the church was better off saying nothing
Reply:I agree with blackjet, the church isn't helping their image by blaming others when everyone KNOWS that the pastor said what he said. The media wouldn't be able to assassinate Wright's character if he didn't say any of the racist and bigoted garbage that he did. I think making that lame excuse only makes their lot look worse by adding a persecution complex to their defense instead of manning up and accepting the consequences, or at least standing by what he said.
Reply:I know, I thought that was hilarious! I really liked the incredible stretch to tie it into MLK somehow. Amazing.
Reply:"social gospel on behalf of oppressed women, children and men in America and around the globe"

You mean "racist tirade and pity party against non-African Americans, a general hatred of America and kudos to the 9/11 attacks."

That's a much better description.
Reply:Keep digging... deeper and deeper! If they get the media mad; they are going to be sorry!!!
Reply:You are part of the fear mongering nation. Be afraid . . . . Be scared . . . Obama might be a muslim . . . . He might be a white people hater . . . . C'mon now! Get some kahones people!! Why live in fear of skin color?? It makes no sense? It's laughable. Really. Even Newsweek did there fact checking and found the muslim and anti american stuff hogwash.

We shouldn't be afraid of our own shadows. Now does Obama look intimidating to you? Don't you think that the Republicans would impeach him in a heartbeat if given ANY ammunition?? Wake up america. You are being fed a line of bull.
