Why is so much of the LA media pro-immigrant and pro-illegal?

It seems a lot of the media in Los Angeles, such as LA Times and KLTA-TV, are pro-immigrant and even pro-illegal.





Today they publish this poll which says only 33 percent of Americans want to deny social services, schools, ER to illegal immigrants





This is not true, there must be politicall bias, other polls show that a vast majority of Americans are tired with illegal immigration and want to end it and possibly deport them





Are they interviewing in East-LA? Seriously, LA is the most affected area in the US, and spanish is spoken in almost all areas now, so it should be the other way, LA should show the highest opposition. Can someone explain to me what is happening?





Is it because it is more politically correct to be pro-immigrant, and over the years this became pro-illegal?

There are a lot of businesses and politicians that feed off of this illegal activity. So they have a natural incentive to keep the free ride they have. I look at that sick setup similar to what would happen if we legalized drugs. Nothing but politicians and businesses mooching off of the potheads, all the while the welfare system explodes with people who shouldn't be here.

Reply:Well, think of it this way. People in LA live with the immigrants (legal and illegal) and interact with them on a daily basis. They would know much more about the situation than random people in some little midwestern town where everyone is white. So if you really want an accurate impression of what people think of illegal immigrants, listen to the media in the areas where people actually know illegal immigrants.
Reply:Let’s say that you had a machine that would make all illegal aliens in L.A. disappear with the click of a switch overnight ok.





“Click” Suddenly they are all gone—all of them with children and all gone.





The very next day the city would come to a halt. In about a week most businesses would suddenly be in the red. Most factories would not be able to function. Millions of dollars would be lost by the hour.





In about a week you’d have an city-wide state of emergency and also let’s us say that you couldn’t replenish them with another batch of illegal aliens but could bring in legal aliens to take their places and fill-in those job vacancies.





Guess what? You’d still have a crisis because those salaries would have to compete with the market value of those positions.





Not to mention a sudden rise in prices all around for practically everything.





Simply put—the US is economically addicted to low cost—illegal work force—and that is why the issue is not easily resolved.





It is an economic issue more than anything else.
