How would Loa-Tzu and Confucius respond to some of the current social and political dilemmas such as racism and poverty, war and murder, marriage and divorce, sex and drugs, individuality and freedom, capitalism and injustice, media and truthfulness, and education and politics.

How would Loa-Tzu and Confucius respond to some of the current social and political dilemmas such as racism...
Lao Tzu would say:

When government is muddled

The people are simple;

When the government is alert

The people are cunning

It is on disaster that good fortune perches;

It is beneath good fortune that disaster crouches.
Reply:With incomprehension for the most part. Its the 21st century.
Reply:Who knows how Laozi would answer. The only book that's attributed to him is the Daodejing, and it's a rather slim volume that deals very little with such societal ills. It's more metaphysical. There are probably some inferences you could make, but you'd have to read the Daodejing first. You'd probably do better with some of the later Daoist philosophers.

Kong Fuzi would prescribe the exact same formula he did in his Analects. There were three main thoughts to his ethical system - do the proper thing at the proper time, do what is right and moral, both of which are based on the idea of kindness. From this came his political system, based on fidelity and loyalty in a very hierarchical system.

A good primer on Chinese philosophy is A Source Book of Chinese Philosophy, by Wing-Tsit Chan. It contains most of the major writings of all philosophers up the Communist takeover.
Reply:They'd buy some stylin' spinner rims and pimp out they Escalades and cruise on down to da club and pop some caps in some o' dem biotches azzes fo' snitchin' no doubt, dawg!
