Is there a movie where people attempt to rise against social order?

- a rise up a political heirarchy (example Macbeth)

- in any type of media

- other examples Vanity Fair and She's All That

Is there a movie where people attempt to rise against social order?
"Spartacus" is a pretty solid social uprising against the social order.

"1984" has people (albeit just 2) avoid the social order (rather than rise up against it.)

"Falling Down" is a pretty good film about one person who decides to fight back against the social order. With Michael Douglas and a pretty good script it's certainly one to give something to think about.
Reply:-Ever After although its more fairy tale-y
Reply:V for Vendetta and the entire star wars series was about rising against the social order. The entire new testament is spreading a message of loving regardless. Talk about going against the social order, then and now!
Reply:Very often Old is better than New. The book and movie, 1984 by George Orwell is a very good answer to your question. The book is difficult to read but worth the effort. The movie is dry and slow but makes the point of the author very well.

If you have ever heard the term "Orwellian" in regard to something negative, the term comes from the thesis of 1984.
Reply:Gettysburg..an awesome movie. It`s about 1 battle in the american civil war.The souther states were rebelling against the social order of america and were trying to retain their rights as individual states whereas the federal government was attempting to ,and succeeded, in removing the rights from the states to determine their own destinies, and claimed those rights for the federal government.
