Do FEMINISTS ever take into consideration that its HARDER to be a MAN in 2007 than a WOMAN?

I'm talking about AMERICA by the way.

I just don't see how being a woman today is hard. Women may get less pay and less opportunities in certain jobs, but they get more opportunities in other jobs and fields that are female dominated.

Today.. women have all the advanteges. Laws, dating, social culture, the media, etc.

Will feminists EVER be pleased? Or do they really want an ADVANTEGE?

Do FEMINISTS ever take into consideration that its HARDER to be a MAN in 2007 than a WOMAN?
Funny how if women complain about getting less pay or something, less rights, less whatever... it's some kind of social movement.

If a man complains about getting the short end of the stick, the women just tell him to quit whining.

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

For Rio: You and maybe 3 to 10 other women in this world feel that way. The rest eat it up like there's no tomorrow.

Additional for Rio: I couldn't agree more.

Dang, I must be throwing some extreme truth out today. Look at all those thumbs down.

A wise man once said that you can judge the amount of truth by how mad women get when they hear it. Just like how a thermometer works with heat.
Reply:I don't know that it is harder to be a man in 2007 but, if it was, it would seem couterproductive for feminists to consider that.
Reply:Butch it up, Bubba and quit whining!

(And try typing your question in Microsoft Word first, do a spell check there, then copying and pasting into the question.)
Reply:Can we turn the tables around? Do YOU ever think of what men have and women don't? You yourself said it didn't you? Women are STILL paid LESS than men and STILL have LESS oppurtunity in certain job fields. How do you justify that? Talk about societal stereotypes concerning marriage, pregnancy, chilbirth, brestfeeding, raising children, work at home, work outside. Who faces all that? Why can't people accept the fact that I DO NOT WANT to squeeze a watermelon out of a hole that starts out as a pea??? WHY? WHY? WHY? Why do I have to justify my choice to ADOPT rather that give birth??? WHY???
Reply:just to piggyback the previous question, why the HELL should a company pay for your birth control?

What pay gap?

What about government mandated preferential treatment in hiring, school admissions, divorce courts....etc., etc.

Give it up. Just cheesed off about "Comparable Worth" legislation ending up in the crapper, eh?
Reply:I find any advantage from gender is minimal by comparison to advantages of social caste, wealth, race, ethnicity and/or nationality...

Go complain to a poor black jew starving in some 3rd world country about your lot in life and see how much sympathy you are going to get...

Life's not fair... but for the most part, men and women are close enough to equal... each has its own advantages...

The Planet: "The so-called 'more opportunities' that women enjoy are not opportunities at all if no one really wants to work those kinds of jobs (male or female)."

This is because of social double standards; Its not that the job opportunities are unwanted or the pay is bad; It's that these jobs are deemed by society as "women's work" ie. Nurses. So men either are not interested or not wanted.

To be a male nurse is subjecting a man to the same abuse a woman would get for entering what is deemed "men's work" such as construction work. The bias goes both ways... the only difference is that what is deemed men's work is usually more dangerous and so pays more. Thus the stereotype that men are paid better than women. Women in those same fields make as much, but they are far less willing to enter those fields due to social stereotypes.
Reply:What's so hard about being a man?
Reply:"Today, women have all the advanteges. Laws, dating, social culture..."

Spelling.
Reply:lol a man WOULD say that .wah wah wah
Reply:Life is tough all over.
Reply:In the history of humankind, there has been no group that is so spoiled than feminists.
Reply:YES women have ALL the advantages, LIKE insurance companies that REFUSE to PAY FOR birth control, A PAY gap that EXISTS no matter what SOME people say and we're STILL JUDGED by our BRA size! OH AND we can be told WHAT to do WITH our bodies!

Yes!

AT LEAST i can STILL use the SHIFTING caps EFFECT LIKE you!
Reply:It's "harder" to be a man....huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh...
Reply:I truly believe that life is hard for everyone these days---man, woman and child. However, have you ever wondered why we still have job fields that are female dominated? If they are so good/desirable/filled with benefits then men would be entering those fields in greater numbers. The so-called 'more opportunities' that women enjoy are not opportunities at all if no one really wants to work those kinds of jobs (male or female). There is a major crisis coming in nursing because of the projected shortages in the field. Yet men still refuse to enter the field even though the wages and benefits are expected to rise rapidly in keeping with it being the next big growth industry.
Reply:THIS QUESTION IS OUTDATED. PLEASE FASTEN YOUR SEAT-BELTS AS WE ARE FLYING INTO 2008 SOON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:What, you think we like having those advantages? It only makes men like you even more resentful of us than you already are.

EDIT TO B-DOR: Well, somebody ought to set them all straight.
Reply:"Women may get less pay and less opportunities in certain jobs, but they get more opportunities in other jobs and fields that are female dominated."

LOL! Well most of us have a clear advantage over you in reasoning for sure :)
Reply:"Sam" and I were talking about this subject the other day and I pointed out to him the fallacies of equality such as you have listed out here in black and white. When you said the us women have the advantages; never mind the spelling; you spoke the truth; we do have the advantage; many of us have also taken that advantage and tied it around your neck like a noose; that's pretty shoddy from the gender I'm a member of; I can't rip off my boobs to make amends, so I will tell you here and now I don't agree with it; gladder than ever now to be an anti-feminist.
Reply:how can women have *all* the advantages, when even you admit we get paid less %26amp; have less opportunities in certain jobs?

each sex has different advantages.

personally, i think it's pretty friggin hard out there if you're working class, regardless of one's sex.
