These are my interests/dislikes...what should i major in?
Be very careful of choosing a major just on your likes and dislikes. You need to figure out which skills you can get a job in.
Universities %26amp; colleges sell degrees. They don't guarantee jobs or income.
You may pay for a lot of knowledge that you spend a lifetime paying back.
Reply:I had a similar problem when I went for my B.A. I recommend, if your a freshman, enroll as UNDECIDED for your major and take the classes that interest you. They'll count towards your General Education (GE) requirements and help you weed out careers you wouldn't want to do. Also, I would recommend that you JOB SHADOW someone who works in a field that your interested in. This is the best way to find out if you like or dislike a job.
Reply:I simply want to reiterate what the first poster said. If your undecided delay the decision of major for as long as you can. Even if you are decided it is probably worth thinking about.
Thanks
Bill
Reply:Instead of giving lists of things to people and asking them to formulate a decision for you, I think it is best for you to go in wihthout a major, take a lot of different classes your first year and start to decide for youself what you like best. It is not that bad to go in with no major, remember most people change their major anyways.
