How far will Hugo Chavez be allowed to go?

I am English and am currently in Venezuela. Maybe in the Uk you are not getting the news on current events here or you just dont care. Chavez is aiming for total control of assets, minerals and of the people. He has already taken control of the oil industry *5th biggest producer in the world, telecomunications and wants to have the banks and steel industrys as well. A few days ago he shut down an opposition tv station which broadcasts both sides of the story. Students are marcing on the streets, the freedom is being taken from them. People may argue that he was voted into power but he had people come from Columbia and other places and gives the poor who are starving propaganda on state television. He aims to make another cuba/china with total media and social control. He aims to ban hair dye and sanatuary products and said women should use a rag .. As you can imagine that didnt go down too well. SO how far will he be allowed to go and what can be done to stop him? we all want freedom

How far will Hugo Chavez be allowed to go?
So many people saw this coming,,Iam glad to see the students in Venezuela rioting,,the balance of the public there need to do the same..they will end up like Cuba soon if not, but blood will be spent now because it is happening to late.. I really feel sorry for them because it is a police state and a person can't open there mouths without a big penalty even death..it bothers me that some of the people in some parts of the eastern U.S. accepted his fuel oil the past winter but I salute the Inuits in Alaska for telling Hugo where to go..the U.S%26gt; needs to replace the oil bought from him cause sooner or later he will cut off the supply unannounced and that will really be felt ...
Reply:Thank you for choosing my answer, I really hope it can work out for the good, but with Chavez who knows, I was in Venzuala years ago and the people are great.... Report It

Reply:I guess the people of Venezuela are in a fix. I wonder if the people still think it's funny that Chavez called Bush the Devil. Let them see who the devil is. The United States is bad. But when your Country is in a bind who do you ask for help.
Reply:he will go a long way.
Reply:It's weird i just saw a woman on tv defending this guy! What is wrong with the world.
Reply:Excellent question. The news media in the US leans very much to the left. The liberal stations don't really mention about what goes on in Venezuela, that's why I watch the Spanish news stations to get better news on what goes on in the Western Hemisphere.
Reply:Oh how all the other low-lives at the UN chuckled when old Hugo called President Bush the devil - of course, it is the same group that put China and Syria on the UN "Human Rights" commission - I feel sorry for the people of Venezuela but they voted this clown into power and they need to take their government back from him if they are to come out of this with any credibility. I agree that democratic countries should suck it up and stop buying HIS oil - it'll hurt the people there briefly but maybe it will incite them to take action also.
