Are we turning into a blame culture? and will we ever accept responsibility for our own actions?

Im I the only one who feels like the press and media are constantly reporting on "scape goats" for social problems? we are hearing more and more that people are obese not because they eat too much or excercise less but because that have the fat gene, I know alot of people have problems loosing weight and I really do feel for them but Im just tired of people passing the buck and putting it down to genitics when the simple fact is that most people put weight on when they consume more cals than they are burning off.

Its also true when we look at the debt problem I watched a programme which claimed that it was all the banks faults because they were offering the credit for people (which is a valid point) but no mention of the people who actually make the decision to take out the loans and get themselves into the debt! why do we as a society continue to blame everyone else for issues which we get our selves into?

Are we turning into a blame culture? and will we ever accept responsibility for our own actions?
I totally agree. Ther's nothing worse than hearing someone bleat about their hardship when its mostly self-inflicted.

I know a guy who has massive debts, but he still drinks down the pub, still has the full Sky package, still smokes, still goes on holidays, still uses the credit cards and last week bought a 42" LCD TV. On credit.

He looked kind of shocked when we told him to shut the f**k up and get real when he moaned about the lack of money he had left at the end of the month. I gave up almost everything to clear my debts about 7 yrs ago. I ate healthily and exercised regularly to shed four stone in weight. I still do to maintain it.

I must have that special gene.

The 'Get off your f**king *** and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT' gene. Hope my kids have it , too.
Reply:Its hard to blame the masses, so the minority usually gets blamed and becomes the scapegoat.
Reply:I have given up newspapers I was in a perpetaul state of being really annoyed. They write what sells. Half of what they say is going to happen doesn't happen - most of it is written for the sake of politics not public information and welfare.
Reply:Yes. And it is all YOUR fault.
